Our Tail a Maid Family
Tail a maid is a professional, caring and dedicated pet service based in Chester and the surrounding areas.
We supply a service where people can be confident that their pets are taken care of with the utmost love, patience, companionship and safety.
Tail a maid pet care services provides excellence in all aspects of animal care, with the knowledge that all animals are actually a part of a family and community life, just like our children.

Pet Lover Extraordinaire
I grew up in the North West/Chester area and I have been surrounded by various animals all my life, including dogs, horses, donkeys rabbits, guinea pigs and even the odd goat!
I started my love for animals from a very early age with the family dog. I currently have three dogs and have been very fortunate enough to whelp and raise a litter of my own. This has to have been the most amazing humbling experience ever!
This experience literally changed my life; I realised this is where I was at my happiest, surrounded by the best friends any person could have.
After walking dogs for many years I realised times have changed and lots of people are now working from home and require something a bit more ‘Tailor made’ … hence the name!

Dog Walker / Licensed Home Boarder
Janine and I have been friends for over 30 years and you can see my love for dogs clearly on my face!
I primarily offer a FULLY LICENCED HOME FROM HOME BOARDING SERVICE but I do help out with dog walking occasionally.
Dogs who stay with Aunty Jayne literally go from their own sofa, straight to mine!
With a woodland walk right on the doorstep and access to a beautiful country park, they are spoilt from start to finish.

FAQ's
We cover the whole of Chester and up to a three mile radius for dog walks.
We also cover:
- Ellesmere Port
- Saughall
- Helsby
- Frodsham
- Eastham
- Hooton
- Burton
- Puddington
We have a fully insured van, which has a dog guard and crate fitted. Each crate has non slip mats & vet bed for extra comfort, to make their journey as safe as possible.
- All staff are first-aid, CPR trained and are DBS checked.
- We have a discreet transportation service, with no logos to advertise.
- Each team member holds individual full liability insurance.
- We believe dogs have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs. Our groups are kept small with a maximum of 4 dogs per person. Groups (where available ) are carefully selected with breed, age, sex and personality in mind.
No – Most clients are comfortable sharing their keys to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will immediately call and notify you. In the original consultation, we ensure that we have all the family emergency contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your dog to your named vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible one.
We get wet!!
We will clean and dry your dog off as much as possible. We do ask that you leave a towel out and if you have a hose, please ensure we have access to this.
Tail a Maid are happy to administer medication for your pet(s) in accordance with your written instructions.
Yes of course! We will always arrange for your local dog walker to meet you and your pet first.
